Division/Class Descriptions

· LEAD LINE:  Any rider 8 & under being shown on a lead line with a leader of at least 15 years old.

· YOUTH:  Any rider 18 years old & under.

· ADULT:  Any rider 19 years old & over.

· WALK/TROT:  Any rider who has never cantered or loped  in a performance class at any show.  Any W/T rider seen cantering or loping on the show grounds will be disqualified for the day.  Riders in this division CANNOT enter the green horse classes.

· GREEN HORSE:  Any age horse in their first or second year of showing under saddle.  Horses in this division CANNOT enter the regular walk/trot classes.  Any green horse seen being ridden at the canter or lope on the show grounds will be disqualified for the day.

· SHOWMANSHIP:  Judged on the poise, confidence & ability of exhibitor while leading a well groomed horse that performs a pattern with smoothness, willingness & precision.

· HALTER: Judged on the horse’s conformation, movement, temperament & suitability.

· EQUITATION:  Judged on the rider’s ability to execute each gait & command with precision & overall suitability on the rail.

· PLEASURE:  Judged on the performance, manners & condition of the horse to give a pleasurable ride with commands given on the rail.

· HORSEMANSHIP:  Judged on the accuracy & smoothness to perform the posted pattern.  Riders will only have to perform the posted pattern in this class.

· TRAIL:  Judged on the accuracy & smoothness of horse & rider in completing a course of obstacles.

Rules

· Proof of NEGATIVE Coggins and Rabies is required on all horses.  Coggins must be dated within ONE YEAR for in-state horses, and SIX MONTHS for all out of state horses. 

· All pre-entries must be postmarked by August 2, 2012.

· You DO NOT have to send money in with your pre-entry.  You must leave a blank check or pay cash at the Secretary’s booth when you check in.

· There will be a $40 service fee charge on all checks returned for insufficient funds.

· Cold Brook Stables, or any person connected with the planning of this event will not be held responsible for any accidents or injuries to horses, riders, spectators, or property.

· Cold Brook Stables reserves the right to cancel, combine or split classes.

· Any protests, please see the show manager.

· It is encouraged that all riders wear an approved helmet at all times while mounted.  Any age rider 18 years of age and under, MUST wear an approved helmet at ALL times.  No exceptions.

· A 2 minute gate call is in effect.  Please, notify the secretary’s booth at least TWO CLASSES IN ADVANCE if a hold is needed.

· The owner of any horse that is out of control or posing a danger will be asked to leave the ring and/or show grounds.  In the same regard, anyone causing a disturbance will be asked to leave the show grounds as well.

· Dogs must be on a 6 ft. leash at all times and are NOT allowed near the show ring area.

· Please bring a muck bucket & fork to clean up around your trailer.

· Any known kickers must wear a red ribbon in their tail to warn others.

· Excessive use of crop, bat, spurs, whips or reins will result in disqualification.

· You DO NOT have to enter all classes in your division to qualify for day end awards, but you must enter at least ONE HALTER & ONE PERFORMANCE class.
